Having shopped at this store for over 5 years, I have nothing but good reviews to give of the Hudson Bay store in Nanaimo. The Manger Maureen Richardson, is superb in her leadership of employees and very understanding. Whilst the employees are courteous and go over and above in order to provide a superb customer service or order a product. Recently, Elizabeth in cosmetics not only assisted me but was dedicated in seeking further information. As promised she later took the time to call me be back with this information later that afternoon.
The shopping in-store is still good, but the online customer service is horrendous. I had so many issues, I can’t even describe them all here. The website also has issues.Many times, it wouldn’t accept promo codes when it should. Because of the in-store customer service I am giving them 3 stars, otherwise it would be 1 star for the online customer service.
No complaints. Always on time delivery, Returns are hassle free, and points add up super quickly! My favourite department store no doubt, cant wait to shop in person again after the lockdown! Where else can you find brand name clothes like champion on sale for such good prices?
I was very surprised to read the low rating as I have dealt with the bay for years and have always had great service. If I wanted to return anything i purchased online or in person I have never had any problems. I usually return items because I order it in 2 different sizes. I love the bay
I love shopping at the actual Hudson's Bay stores and am sad to hear that a few of their locations are closing. The one in downtown Edmonton is one of them. So my rating is based mostly on my in store experiences. I cannot say the same about Hudson's Bay online ordering and customer service. It's absolutely terrible and extremely frustrating! In all honesty, I'm not sure why they have a call centre because they aren't able to help you with anything and it seems most of the reviews are based on the online ordering/customer service. Although, I have had store clerks place an order online for me for an out of stock item which was shipped to the store with no problems.
I hope Hudson's Bay can survive and stay in business; it has 350 years of history!
Love the selection at The Bay.
Recently tried to use a new gift card online and it would not work. Called customer service and, although it took a while to sort out, it was not the customer service person's fault. He stuck with it, resolved the issue and and even sent me a new gift card to replace the one that wouldn't work without me even asking for that.
I have bought many things over the years there and been satisfied. I’m especially pleased with my blanket.

They are a legitimate company which is managed poorly.

Hudson's Bay is thebay.com but this department store outsources to Third World countries. Their customer service are children that do not know how to handle telephone calls and their products are now made in China. The quality of their product is pretty much the same as Walmart.
